    Business Information:In 1970, the Golden Bakery opened its doors for the first year as a family-owned and run bakery. For 45 years, the Golden Bakery & Deli has been serving locals and tourists in the small downtown of Golden, B.C. We offer a wide variety of bread and buns, cookies and pastries and gluten free products such as bread and macaroon cookies.

    Work location: Same as above

    Type of Employment: Full time–Permanent

    Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible


    Job description:


    • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes, according to recipes or special customer orders
    • Prepare mixes for pies, squares, cookies, loaves, buns and other sweet goods
    • Attend ovens to bake prepared mixes
    • Bake mixed dough and batters
    • Prepare special orders
    • Ensure that the quality of products meets the established standards
    • Operate machinery and specialized equipment related to bakery such as bread mixers, oven, divider-round, sheet roller and others.
    • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
    • Organize and maintain inventory


    Cuisine specialties: Gluten free, breads and rolls, desserts and pastries.



    -Education: Completion of high school is required

    -Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a baker is required. In the event that the candidate does not have 3 years of experience then a post-secondary certificate is required.


    Salary:  $16.00 to 18.00 hourly, 40 hours weekly

    -Requires long period of standing


    Benefits: Uniforms and staff discounts on lunches and bakery products are provided. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.


    Other information:

    - The position requires work in the early mornings, the worker will work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. The most common schedule will be from Tuesday to Saturday from 2:30am to 11am. Overtime may be required during the summer. Sundays and Mondays off.
