    Job Description:

    Backcountry BC has only proven and successful guides who are in top physical shape. We handle ourselves in the highest professional manner and will “Do What It Takes.” We are all avid mountain hunters with the skills necessary to perform a safe, successful and fun adventure like no other.

    Backcountry BC and Beyond is looking for a Hunting Guide who can efficiently assist in the daily operations of our camp for the 2019 hunting season.  

    Main Duties include:

    • Plan itinerary for trip or expedition and arrange transportation or transport individuals or group to site
    • Operate and maintain firearms and equipment
    • Orienteering and/or survival
    • Hunting (firearms)
    • Trail riding (horseback)
    • Escort groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips
    • Assemble camping gear and supplies
    • Advise on specific regulations such as hunting and fishing laws and boating regulations
    • Follow environmental guidelines and prevent violations, 
    • Prepare meals
    • Set up and take down camps
    • Provide wilderness, wildlife, and outdoor instruction
    • Prevent legislation violations
    • Set up emergency shelters
    • Address customers complaints or concerns

    Employment Requirements:

    Several years’ experience in the field (1-2 years)

    Previous experience with horses is required

    CPR certificate preferred, but not required

    • Qualified and passed the BC Assistant Guide License (or ability to pass upon hiring)
