    FAMILIES BRANCHING OUT CHILD CARE WORKER

    Part-Time Position-Term Certain (dependent on funding)

     

    JOB OVERVIEW

    Working as part of a childcare team of staff and volunteers in a high energy environment, the Families Branching Out Child Care Worker is responsible for the planning and delivery of multicultural and age appropriate programming with the focus on children ages 2-6 years.  This position also includes other related program duties to support activities in the Families Branching Out Program.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to work effectively with parents, caregivers, children, staff, volunteers and community
    • Knowledge of child development and early learning
    • Experience in organizing activities for children in a multicultural environment
    • Knowledge of reflective practice, engaging children in projects and assisting with special events
    • Experience working with diverse ethnic populations
    • Experience working with young children and their extended families
    • Very flexible with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to model positive communication skills to parents and caregivers
    • Criminal record check required
    • Second language an asset
    • First Aid Certificate
    • Early Childhood Education training an asset

     

    POSITION DETAILS

    Salary                                 :   $18.35-$19.74 per hour (subject to improvements)

    Schedule                            :   Mondays, 4:30-8:30pm (4 hours)

    Location                             :   Collingwood Neighbourhood House

    Expected Start Date         :   Immediately
