    Description :

    Job duties

    • Plan, direct and evaluate the 50 Degrees North’s operations
    • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitor operations on sales
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies
    • Resolve customer complaints
    • Increase sales of all 50 Degrees North’ products
    • Provide travel consultancy
    • Provide excellent service to travellers with 50 Degrees North
    • Maintain relationships with key agents and agency groups
    • Attend Travel Expos & Travel shows
    • General administration tasks as required

    Terms of employment

    This is an indeterminate (permanent) position, based in our North Vancouver office. The position will be based on full-time work (37.5 hours/week).

    Work experience and qualifications:

    • Qualifications and/or experience in a travel industry role, or experience in similar field
    • Personal and/or professional travel experience in key 50 Degrees North destinations, specifically Northern Scandinavia /Lapland – Northern Finland, Sweden and/or Norway
    • Knowledge of the Canadian and North American travel market
    • Knowledge and experience working with reservation systems and/or CRM
    • Competent in use of Microsoft office products, and preferably Amadeus GDS and Tourplan
    • Experience and interest in cultural travel
    • Independent and trustworthy
    • Superior customer service and communication skills
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Problem solving and decision-making capacities
    • Ability to work independently and in a team
    • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks
    • Friendly, flexible and a sense of humour!

    Education:

    Secondary school required

    University education is an asset

    Language:

    Oral and written English required; Fluency in a Nordic language is an asset
