    Job Requirements

    Languages

    English

    Education

    Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

    Experience

    Minimum 7 months in gift shop retail industry

     

    Specific Skills

    Sell merchandise; Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters; Authorize return of merchandise; Assign sales workers to duties; Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers; Organize and maintain inventory. Be able to lift average 20-30 lbs boxes.

    Additional Skills: Order merchandise; Establish work schedules; Hire and train or arrange for training of staff

    Employment conditions: be able to work on Day, Evening, Late evening, Weekend and Morning shifts. Be able to support other branch locations in downtown Vancouver.

    Job Duties:

      • Supervise and support sales staff and cashiers
      • Able to perform some or all of support sales staff/cashiers’ job duties
      • Retail price, POS system and new products management
      • Authorize and process the return of merchandise
      • Demonstrate and sell merchandise to customers
      • Assist in sales forecasting for events and holidays
      • Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
      • Maintain appropriate inventory and order placement
      • Create and Organize daily sales reports to Manager
      • Manage and training new sales clerks.
      • Loss prevention and defective product management
      • Key holder for opening or closing stores
      • Reconciling cash and bank deposit
      • Organize, direct and evaluate daily operations
      • Other duties as required
