    Are you a motivated, customer service-oriented individual with an eye for detail? Do you have at least two years of recent work experience in a financial role? As a financial services assistant, you’ll be responsible for providing a range of clerical and administrative services to support our Financial Services Delivery department.

     

    What you’ll do

    As a financial services assistant you will:

    • Processes work order requests in the Electronic Invoice Application system and liaise with other divisional staff for the completion of these requests
    • Support the Purchasing department with purchase orders; keep track of purchasing requests and status of outstanding purchase requisitions; advising managers of status concerns
    • Utilize the Time and Labor Reporting system to keep track of contractors; note any inconsistencies and forward problems to senior financial analysts; coordinate with departmental contacts to ensure contractor’s time sheets are submitted and approved
    • Enter financial data into worksheets and database; review the information collected for completeness and generate reports to meet financial reporting schedules
    • Receive invoices and match with the related purchase order, following up with vendors where necessary; check for invoice accuracy and identify any discrepancies to the financial analysts
    • Obtain the appropriate invoice approval as determined by the Financial Approval Controls Policy and forward to Accounts Payable department

    • Coordinate, prioritize, and monitor tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Communicate effectively to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external client groups
    • Gather and understand information from a variety of sources and accurately relay it to clients and vendors
    • Work independently and with others

     

    Your experience and educational background:

    • A minimum of grade 12 education; some post-secondary education is preferred
    • A minimum of two years of recent experience in a financial role
    • Experience using financial mainframe system is preferred
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
    • Must type a minimum of 45 words per minute
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations
