    If you have a passion for healthcare and improving health benefits for First Nations peoples, this is the perfect opportunity for you! As the Co-Op Student with FNHA’s Health Benefits team, you will be involved in a project to develop mental health telehealth guidelines and audit to improve quality of services.
    Your main responsibilities will be researching mental health telehealth standards, collecting information from professional bodies and providers, and assisting in developing policies and standards. You will have the opportunity to attend meetings and build relationships with professional bodies. The student will complete a number of tasks that require the ability to: review and synthesize information, work with quantitative and qualitative data, and produce a variety of reports, tables, briefing notes. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of BC First Nations while gaining exposure in the healthcare industry!
    • Research mental health telehealth professional standards and guidelines
    • Research limitations and risks with mental health therapies provided remotely
    • Research telehealth validation practices with various organizations
    • Interview mental health providers and clients for input on telehealth services and validation models
    • Assist in developing policies and standards for mental health telehealth practice
    • Support the development of an audit process to determine if providers are providing care to telehealth clients, while adhering to guidelines
    • Support the pilot of an audit process and analyze results
    • Analyze and update mental health provider registry to track telehealth services
    • Analyze BC communities that would benefit from expanding mental health telehealth service options
    • Research opportunities and barriers to expanding mental health telehealth service options in communities
    • Support the development of a client satisfaction survey for mental health telehealth services
    • Support the pilot of a client satisfaction survey for mental health telehealth services and analyze results
    • Currently enrolled in a Health Information Science or other relevant program
    • Experience in research, interviewing, collecting data, and analysis
    • Experience in writing, note-taking and reporting
    • Experience in developing policy
    • Experience in developing audit processes
    • Some knowledge in telehealth would be an asset
