    We’re looking for a licensed pharmacist to provide supervision, advice, and clinical expertise to our Health Benefits Unit – A team who implement entitlement decisions on health care and pharmacy services for injured workers. In this role, you’ll oversee the contract management and service level agreements with our third party providers and you’ll be a vital resource for internal stakeholders to ensure that medication therapy is appropriate and supports our pharmacy benefit program for injured workers.

     

    What you’ll do

    As a supervisor of Pharmacy Benefits Management you will:

    • Generate, analyze, and interpret third party provider reports to ensure adherence to contract and service level agreements and the integrity of business information
    • Analyze data from other sources to support business decisions and identify issues and cost savings opportunities
    • Supervise and provide work direction to the Pharmacy Benefits Management team
    • Collaborate with and provide advice to internal stakeholders and respond to queries related to medication therapy
    • Provide educational sessions and training to internal physicians, registered nurses, and others on the use of medications, such as opioids
    • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews to ensure clients’ medication regimes are appropriate
    • Provide advice and guidance to community based Pharmacists/Pharmacy Technicians/Physicians as it relates to WorkSafeBC medication related entitlements and recommend appropriate usage for tapering strategies
    • Liaise with external stakeholders, including the B.C. Pharmacist Association and the College of Pharmacists of B.C., on matters relating to WorkSafeBC medication related coverage
    • Deliver presentations on various topics, such as the Medication Review Team or pharmacy benefit management processes to a wide range of audiences

    • Communicate detailed technical information on pharmaceuticals and the appropriateness of prescriptions
    • Clearly, concisely, and respectfully present complex clinical information, verbally and in writing, to audiences with varying levels of understanding
    • Establish and maintain professional and respectful relationships with co-workers, clients, and health care providers
    • Work independently and as a member of a team in a time-sensitive, service-oriented environment

     

    Your experience and educational background:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with current registration as a licensed pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
    • A minimum of six years of experience as a licensed pharmacist working in a pharmacy
    • Experience creating tapering protocols
    • Experience with substance abuse in the community and/or substance abuse treatments in a hospital
    • Knowledge of pharmacy management systems, such as Telus Health Solutions
