    Job Description:

JOLT Services Ltd is a small family, and veteran owned company, operating out of BC's Okanagan Valley.  We are in the early stages of an expansion plan that requires an experienced and "hands-on" manager to take over the day-to-day operations of the Transport (long haul trucking) side of our business. The right candidate will be just as happy behind the wheel of a semi-truck as they are behind a desk.  They will be prepared to drive trucks and deliver freight as well as manage the Company's daily operations during the early stages of our expansion.

JOLT BC is looking for a Transport Manager who can efficiently facilitate the daily operations of our business, assist in long haul trucking across North America, acquiring our additional vehicles and training our new staff/drivers per company expectations.

    Main Duties include:

    • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a transportation company
    • Set operations policies and standards, including determination of safety procedures for the handling of dangerous goods, and ensure compliance with transport regulations
    • Oversee the dispatch, maintenance and service of vehicles
    • Control the company or departmental budget, including acquisitions
    • Arrange for shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling and dispatching of goods and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit
    • Set performance goals, oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue
    • Develop plans and procedures for the transportation and storage of goods
    • Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates
    • Training of all staff in company practices and procedures
    • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new drivers

    Employment Requirements:

    • Completion of secondary school
    • Class 1 driver’s license required
    • Several years of experience in transportation operations
    • Experience in mountain driving, as we operate in all terrain and weather conditions
    • Certification or training in transportation field
    • Certification in Transport Management preferred
    • Working mechanical knowledge of class 1 tractor units (self-recovery)
    • Must be admissible into United States of America and have proper visas (if required) for port of entry
