    Description :

    Duties :

    - Supervise and care for child with down syndrome age 9 in employer's home

    - Help the young child to dress and organize daily activities

    - Oversee child's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer

    - Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development

    - Tend to the emotional well-being of child - Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents

    - Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise

    - Help to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry and cleaning

    - Take child to and from school and join appointments, therapies, etc.

    - Maintain a healthy environment in the home

     - Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents

    - May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding child

    Work Hours : 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (total 8 hrs/day with time off in between)

    Security and Safety : Criminal record check

    Skills/Education/Experience: Has first aid and CPR, has completed 6 month caregiving course or minimum 1 yr equivalent caregiving experience, has completed secondary school, fluent in English (writing and reading)

    Accommodation: Optional accommodate available at no charge

    NOTE: This is not a condition of employment

    Work Setting: Private home near Nordel, Delta B.C

    Terms of employment: Full time (30-40 hrs/week) permanent, $12.65/hr

    Position is available and open to Aboriginal youth, new immigrants and persons with disabilities and we prefer someone who has flexibility in work schedule
