    Community Development Facilitator

    Aboriginal Education

     

    Coquitlam School District invites applications from individuals for the position of Community Development Facilitator – Aboriginal Education.   As the third largest school district in the province we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver.  The school district has a population of 30,000 students with approximately 3500 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.

     

    This experienced Community Development Facilitator reports to the designate Assistant Superintendent and indirectly reporting to the Principal or designate at each site.   The community Development Facilitator provides direct support to the daily operations of community development programming and is responsible for the organization and operation of school community programs, including community schools.    The community Development Facilitator also collaborates with and assist the community Connections and Healthy Living coordinator to facilitate districtwide programming

     

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

     

    • Diploma in      Recreational Leadership Management/ Community Development or equivalent.
    • 4 years recent      experience in recreation, social services, education and /or social      sciences and program delivery/management
    • Computer skills      required, with proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Valid Class 5      driver’s license.  Business use of      personal vehicle required
    • Current First      Aid and CPR certification
    • A      thorough knowledge of First Nations cultures

     

     

    We offer $28.89/ per hour (40 hours/week), Extended Health, Dental, MSP and Pension Plan (MPP)
