    Are you an accounting professional with PeopleSoft experience, who enjoys working in a team environment? We’re looking for an individual to join our Accounting Services department to assist in the accounts payable operations and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our payments, and to back up other positions in the department related to accounts receivable and travel operations.


    This opportunity is a temporary assignment of approximately one year — An opportunity to try a new role, get your foot in the door, move on after your assignment, or explore avenues to stay.     What you’ll do

    As an accounting services analyst you will:

    • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to other accounting staff
    • Audit a random sample of financial transactions processed by the accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks to ensure they comply with financial policies
    • Be a floater for positions with the Accounting Services department including positions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
    • Participate in the user acceptance testing of any changes to the AP financial system and in the development of training programs
    • Perform monthly travel and expense and general ledger account reconciliations relating to the areas of responsibility
    • Administer the corporate capital asset management system and keep current with policies and procedures relating to corporate asset management, asset expenditures, and asset accounting including business case and capital expense requisition procedures
    • Conduct monthly travel and expense reimbursement reviews
    • Be the front-line contact for all tax related matters
    • Review self-service submissions by financial service managers, budget coordinators, and other staff to ensure accuracy

    • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences


    Your experience and educational background:

    • An undergraduate degree (such as business, commerce, accounting) or at least completion of two modules of the CPA program
    • A minimum of two years of directly-related experience in corporate accounting, with working knowledge of asset management, accounting, and auditing principles and practices
    • General knowledge of internal control concepts is required, as well as the ability to reconcile discrepancies between two or more sources of financial information
    • Working knowledge of the PeopleSoft financial suite of applications is preferred
    • Working knowledge of asset management is preferred
