Essential Skills for Indigenous Business
NEC Native Education College is a large private Aboriginal college in Vancouver and also works with First Nations and Aboriginal organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia. NEC works to strengthen Indigenous communities through offering programs that lead to employment and higher learning.
NEC has obtained funding for a new program based on the Essential Skills model, focusing on employability training in customer service industries.
We are seeking a Casual Instructor for delivery of Essential Skills for Indigenous Business. Facilitation modules include life skills, intro to business studies, workplace essentials, hospitality, travel/tourism, retail, financial sector training, job search and interview skills.
Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered:
Appointment to this short-term contract position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude an offer of employment being finalized. This position is open to male and female applicants. Preference will be given to qualified Aboriginal applicants.
Closing Date: Sunday, June 17, 2018
Start / End Date: Mon. Jul. 9 – Wed. Sep. 26, 2018
Hours: Avg. 10 hrs/week
