    We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our growing team! Reporting to the IT Manager, this role will support the BC First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) by being responsible for the overall administration and technical support of FNHA infrastructure. This is your chance to be a part our high-functioning Core-Technology team, working closely with database and operating system administrators, programmers, and analysts to ensure effective data security, integrity, and recoverability procedures.     •  Manages the day-to-day operations of FNHA infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair
    •  Performs daily administration tasks such as installing and disabling windows services, testing and applying windows patches using KACE or WSUS to maintain the health and viability of the current MS Windows (2008 and 2012), Active Directory domain and Exchange Server 2013 environments supporting 500+ users
    •  Creates, maintains, updates and audits AD/Exchange user accounts, access permissions, mailbox quotas
    •  Plan, develop, configure and maintain Security & Distribution Groups and Group Policies within Active Directory Environment.
    •  Manages daily administration of SharePoint 2010 and 2013 infrastructure by monitoring and changing, if necessary, CPU, Ram and disk space. Coordinates with application team to apply Windows Servers patches and security updates
    •  Manages Endpoint Protection Trend-Office Scan and Trend-Deep Security of end-user computing and server platforms and assist first-level in the detection, escalation, remediation and analysis of virus, spyware and malware
    •  Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability
    •  Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse
    •  Implements and manages collaboration tools such as WebEx and GoToMeeting by creating and training user accounts
    •  Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems
    •  Applies revisions to host system firmware and software
    •  Writes instructional and technical support documents for system administrators/support staff as well as end-users/customers. Documents and educates co-workers on all implemented solutions as well as improvements and enhancements
    •  Performs troubleshooting as required, including leading problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations
    •  Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained
    •  Recommends tools, procedures, and training sessions for Operations, Client Support and Systems Development staff to assist with work
    •  Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired
    •  Supports Hyper-V virtualization and Nutanix storage technologies on a secondary basis by completing tasks assigned by Data Center System Administrator
    •  Supports backup and tape rotation on secondary basis by completing tasks assigned by Data Center System Administrator.
    •  Supports MDM solution and mobile devices on secondary basis by completing tasks assigned by Messaging System Administrator.
    •  Works closely with the IT management team and support Service Desk teams and other internal partners to ensure that all customer requirements are being addressed
    •  Provides server support related to other software
    •  Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for FNHA to take advantage of new technology
    •  Performs other related duties as assigned

    •  University degree in the field of computer science or management information systems or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience

    Occupational Certification
    •  Knowledge of system infrastructure through achievement of Microsoft MCSA, MCSE or other certifications

    •  Significant, recent and relevant experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments (Significant usually defined as 4-6 years of experience and recent usually defined as experience acquired over the past 4-8 years)
    •  Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology
    •  Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
    •  Experience with TCP/IP and Windows network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration
