    Job Title: Child-care Provider - Private Home - NOC 6474 (NOC 2011: 4411)

    Job Type: Regular Job

    Terms of Employment: full-time, permanent, 44 hours per week. Overtime paid at 1.5x regular rate, as per Employment Standards

    Wage: $13.60/hour

    Anticipated Start Date: as soon as possible


    Skills Requirements:

    • Education: Completion of secondary school may be required
    • Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses etc.): Not required
    • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Child-care providers may require completion of a training program in child care or a related field. Child-care or household management experience may be required


    Language: English

    Children's Ages: School age (6 - 12 years)


    Work Setting: Employer's Home

    Specific Skills

    Tend to emotional well-being of children; Supervise and care for children; Prepare and serve nutritious meals; Organize, activities such as games and outings for children; Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home; Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children; Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development; Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents; Help children with homework


    Additional Skills

    Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties


    Other: Care of two children

    Target Audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children


    Preference for this position will be given to Canadians, permanent residents, new immigrants, aboriginals, youth, older workers and people with disabilities, with the appropriate experience
