  • ACCESS Trades was established to increase training and apprenticeship opportunities in the urban Aboriginal community. Our services are specifically designed for men and women interested in entering into apprenticeship training and becoming certified in one of the trades.

  • Essentials Skills was started in 2007 and is located in the heart of New Westminster. We help aboriginals gain valuable essential skills as that is the foundation for learning all other skills needed for work, learning and life.

  • Employment Assistance Service sites are typically the first point of contact between ACCESS and our urban Aboriginal clients. Services include:

Access Funded Programs  -  LEARN MORE

  • The Programs Department oversees ACCESS-funded training projects sponsored by urban Aboriginal organizations in Metro Vancouver. These project-based training initiatives are designed to assist Aboriginal people to enter the workforce directly or to pursue further education towards high school or post secondary graduation that will eventually lead to future career placements.

 

BladeRunners  -  LEARN MORE

  • Since 1994, BladeRunners has helped construction contractors fill entry-level positions with motivated young people. Employers have discovered these at-risk youth ages 15-30 will succeed if given the opportunity. After two years, 80% remain in the construction trades with 30% continuing on to journeyperson status or entrepeneurship.
